Germany Enchanting Castles

The beautiful fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria is poised in the Bavaria Alps above Hohenschwangau village near the Pollat Gorge.  Memories of walking up the path to the castle surrounded by spectacular terrain to discover the grand scale detail of the turrets and towers then taking a tour inside of the castle are unforgettable.  The magnificent views from the castle windows are delightful.

Neuschwanstein Castle means “New Swan Stone” from Wagner’s opera “Lohengrin” The Knight of the Swan.  Neuschwanstein Castle was the inspiration for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle.

The stunning yellow hue Hohenschwangau Castle of King Ludwig II will take you into other enchanting surroundings next to Neuschwanstein Castle.  Enjoy a tour and discover the scenes of the Swan Knight Lohengrin and the swan fountain.
